TriMedx Foundation Raises $40,000 for Medical Missions

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 25, 2008) - The third annual Mission on the Greens raised more than $40,000 for the TriMedx Foundation drawing nearly 150 golfers and 70 volunteers to Broadmoor Country Club today.

Coordinating several medical mission trips each year to install retired medical equipment, the TriMedx Foundation was created by Indianapolis-based healthcare equipment manager TriMedx to procure, install, and repair donated medical equipment for hospitals and clinics in third-world countries. The organization has redeployed a total of over $650,000 in medical equipment since it was established in 2004.

"An estimated $1.3 billion in healthcare equipment is dumped in U.S. landfills annually that could be redistributed," said Tim Moss, TriMedx Foundation executive director. "By providing equipment and teaching locals how to maintain it, we are helping raise the standard of healthcare in developing nations."

Funding for the foundation is derived from donations from TriMedx associates, equipment vendors, healthcare providers, technical staff and the annual golf event.

"The beauty of partnership is truly exemplified when vendors, customers, and service partners come together for a cause that transcends profitability and self-serving desires," said Greg Ranger, TriMedx president and chief executive officer who helped found the company and its 501(c)3 Foundation.

In addition to donations, TriMedx extends its corporate mission to improve the health and lives of others by continuing full salaries for associates participating in TriMedx Foundation mission trips.
