The TRIMEDX Foundation sent 36 volunteers on 10 medical mission trips. Together, volunteers dedicated more than 526 hours in service to our medical partners across the African continent and throughout the U.S. Pacific Northwest and Midwest. Team Sierra Leone kicked of the TRIMEDX Foundation’s Q2 volunteer trips flying to Lungi, Sierra Leone in support of the Rashid Conteh Memorial Foundation. The three-man volunteer team volunteered alongside Dr. Hassan Sesay, traveling to Bai Bureh Memorial Hospital and Evans Medical Center, about 45 miles away, tallying up 72 hours of volunteer service.
CURE Children’s Hospital of Uganda – Mbale, Uganda
Team Uganda arrived in East Africa, about 4,500 miles away, in Mbale, Uganda, to provide technical expertise and support to the staff at CURE Children’s Hospital of Uganda. Together, the team collectively volunteered for 96 hours and successfully fulfilled all requested equipment maintenance orders and facility checks.
AIC-CURE Children’s Hospital of Kenya – Kijabe, Kenya
Team Kenya arrived at AIC-CURE Children’s Hospital of Kenya in Kijabe, Kenya. The team serviced critical equipment, including an X-RAY and ultrasound machines, and provided facility recommendations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. The team contributed 108 hours of volunteer service towards the TRIMEDX Foundation’s mission.
Hope Medical, Pathways, and Options 360 – Hood River, Oregon, The Dalles, Oregon, and Washougal, Washington, United States
A TRIMEDX Foundation volunteer traveled to three healthcare clinics in two days in the Pacific Northwest, volunteering for 6 hours across the clinics. The volunteer provided comprehensive evaluations of ultrasound units to ensure safe and reliable operation, assessed printers, maintained patient monitors, and tested a clinic centrifuge and timer.
Centurion – Phoenix, Arizona and Chicago, Illinois, United States
Over the summer, 3 foundation volunteers dedicated 16 hours of service across three days at Centurion warehouses in Phoenix, Arizona and Chicago, Illinois to assess and tag medical that can be donated to our international and domestic healthcare partners.
Beit-CURE Children’s Hospital of Malawi – Blantyre, Malawi
Team Malawi dedicated 120 hours of service at Beit-CURE Children’s Hospital of Malawi in Blantyre, Malawi and restored biomedical equipment, including a C-ARM and the back-up imaging system, and provided critical facility repairs to the hospital's washing machines and roof.
Kenya Relief’s Brase Medical Clinic – Migori, Kenya
Team Kenya made up the fifth and final volunteer team traveling to the African continent in the spring quarter, sharing 100 hours of volunteer support. The team returned to Kenya Relief’s Brase Medical Clinic and Vision Center in Migori, Kenya and fixed ultrasound machines, an electrosurgical unit, and began to develop a comprehensive asset register for the clinic.
Turn the Wrench at TRIMEDX Foundation - Indianapolis, Indiana
Following an evening of fun and fellowship at the TRIMEDX Foundation’s annual Volunteer Appreciation event, our international volunteers dedicated a morning at our warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana to turn the wrench. Our volunteers worked together, serviced a number of machines, and learned new skills while developing deeper relationships with one another.
